Two sites say two different things about how you get it
One source describes a free Galaxy Egg route to the Dragon and dedicates three pages to it. Another states plainly that the Dragon is the one pet with no free equivalent. Both are disclosed on the page rather than one being chosen.
This is not a nitpick. If the free route exists, then spending Robux on gacha rolls is buying something you could hatch, and the advice is to farm eggs. If it does not exist, the gacha is the only route and the odds table below is the entire decision. The two answers lead to opposite spending advice, which is why this page does not choose one for you.
The developer has published nothing about the Dragon’s acquisition routes.
The confirmed route: the Dragon Egg gacha
The Dragon Egg sits in the shop and is flagged instant hatch, meaning no nest and no timer. You are buying a roll at a published probability. The Dragon sits at the bottom of that table, which is the whole reason the price matters.

The price per roll falls as the pack grows, and the commitment per decision rises with it.
The arithmetic at 1 percent
- Dragon at 1 percent means a 50-roll pack still has a 60 percent chance of missing it.
- Three 50-roll packs cost 10,497 Robux and still expect more misses than hits.
- T-Rex at 15 percent means a 10-roll pack lands at least one about 80 percent of the time.
There is no pity system, so a failed roll does not bring the next one closer. Each roll is independent at the published rate, which means the expected cost is the real cost over a large enough sample, and anything can happen over ten.
The 999 MPH figure on the official artwork
The developer's own store artwork prints 999 MPH beside the Dragon Egg and gives no explanation. A third party reads it as the top of the speed ladder. We quote the figure and attribute the reading rather than adopting it.
There is a reason to be careful with it. The same artwork pairs the number with the Dragon Egg rather than with the Dragon, and the Dragon’s stat table puts its base speed at 300M, not at anything near three digits of thousands. So the figure could be a cap, a milestone, or a display value from a build where the numbers worked differently. Three readings, no evidence for any of them, and no number invented to break the tie.
What the Dragon is actually good for
It is the money pet. Baseline income of 300,000,000% is the highest on the roster, and the nearest competitors are a long way back. If your problem is affording radar tiers, nest upgrades or anything else priced in cash, the Dragon solves it faster than any other pet, and it does so while parked on your plot rather than while you are riding it.

What it is not is the travel pet. Kitsune holds the highest base speed and the highest base jump, so for the egg loop the Dragon is second best at best. A player with both should be riding the Kitsune and leaving the Dragon on the plot, which sounds obvious written down and is routinely got wrong in practice because the Dragon is the more expensive pet.
Mutating a Dragon
Mutations multiply a base stat, so the Dragon is close to the ideal target for one. Its income base is the largest in the game, which means the same multiplier produces a larger absolute gain here than anywhere else. That is arithmetic rather than opinion: the percentage is identical on every pet, and the absolute number is not.

One caveat before you commit a mutation here: Every mutation multiplies base stats, but WHICH base stats is only stated for one of the three. The Shocked mutation is described as a 2x SPEED bonus specifically, with the note that it can completely reverse a performance comparison. Nothing corroborated states whether Volted and Rage affect speed, income, or both. The distinction matters because a speed-only mutation does nothing for a pet sitting on your plot, and an income-only mutation does nothing for the egg loop. Run the numbers on the calculator first, and read the speed column as the better-supported half of it.
What is still not established about this pet
- Whether a free route through the Galaxy Egg exists. Two sites disagree and the developer has said nothing.
- What the 999 MPH figure printed on the official artwork refers to.
- What the Dragon weighs, and whether weight ever differs between pets. Every pet is reported at ten kilograms, which makes the stat currently useless.
- The exact rarity label. The Dragon sits inside the one-row offset described on the pet database, so the number above may belong to the pet beneath it.
