Ride A Pet rebirth
The ladder, the cost curve behind it, and the two numbers sources disagree on by a factor of eight.
The one number to read before the table
One source states the first rebirth takes income from 1x to 1.25x. Another states plainly that the first reset takes income from 1x to 2x. Both describe the same first reset. This site publishes both and adopts neither, because the difference between a 25 percent and a 100 percent first step changes whether the first reset is obviously worth doing or merely worth considering.
Status: unresolved. Severity: the two answers differ by a factor of eight.
What a rebirth does
A rebirth resets part of your progress in exchange for a permanent income multiplier. The multiplier is account-wide and applies to every cash source in the game.
- What you lose
- Cash
- Luck
- Most of your pet power
- What survives
- The rebirth multiplier itself, which never resets.
Three details change whether a reset is worth doing, and all three are easy to miss. First, The multiplier applies to pet sales, egg rolls and map completion rewards alike. The only thing it does not apply to is Robux, because Robux is not bought with in-game cash. Second, The multiplier scales with the cash balance you are holding when you reset. Resetting underprepared returns a smaller multiplier than the same reset done with a full bank. Third, Holding far more than the threshold does not grant any extra multiplier. Going in well above the requirement wastes the difference.
Those last two statements look like opposites, and that matters
Two of the mechanism statements sit next to each other and read as opposites. If the multiplier scales with the cash balance you are holding, then holding more should be better. But holding far above the threshold grants nothing extra. Read quickly, the first says hoard and the second says do not.
The two are consistent if the scaling operates across the window between underprepared and the threshold, and stops there. On that reading the target is a bank that comfortably clears the requirement, not one that clears it by a wide margin. Arrive full relative to the requirement, and do not keep saving past it.
a reconciliation of two sourced statements, not a sourced statement itself. The two readings lead to opposite plans, and the gap between them is the compounding difference between two resets. A player who hoards well past the threshold spends sessions earning cash that buys nothing, when those same sessions could have been spent earning under the new multiplier.
The game tracks three layers. Session cash resets completely. Pet power mostly resets. The rebirth multiplier never resets. Confusing the second and third is the most expensive mistake in this system. That distinction is what makes the trade rational. A reset does not undo your progress, it converts a spendable resource into a permanent one, and the permanent one is what every future session is built on.
The rebirth dialog shows a requirement row: a cash threshold you must meet, plus a pet loadout that can rebuild your cash quickly after the reset.

The ladder
Starting multiplier is 1x. The final column is the one worth reading closely: it is the cash cost of each single point of multiplier gained, and it is computed from the two columns beside it rather than quoted from anywhere.
| Reset | Cash required | Multiplier | Gain | Cash per point |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | 1,000 | x1.25 | +0.25 | 4,000 |
| 2nd | 5,000 | x1.50 | +0.25 | 20,000 |
| 3rd | 25,000 | x2.00 | +0.50 | 50,000 |
| 4th | 100,000 | x2.75 | +0.75 | 133,333 |
| 5th | 500,000+ | x3.50 and up | +0.75 | 666,667 |
The strongest source lists five tiers and marks the fifth as open-ended, rather than publishing a final level.
Reported cap
7 rebirths S3
Two independent sources published on the same day state that seven rebirths can be completed at the release version. The strongest source lists only five tiers and marks the fifth as open-ended, implying more levels exist without confirming a count. The seven-rebirth figure is published here at multi-source grade, with the caveat that the strongest source does not confirm it.
Why each extra point costs more than the last
Cash requirements grow roughly fivefold per tier while the multiplier grows much more slowly, so the cost of each additional point of multiplier rises steeply as you climb.
The first reset costs 1,000 cash for a quarter point of multiplier. The fifth costs a half million for three quarters of a point. That works out to roughly 4,000 cash per point of multiplier at the bottom of the ladder and roughly 667,000 at the top, an increase of two orders of magnitude.
After the third rebirth the bottleneck stops being playtime and becomes route quality. Past that point, whether a reset is worth doing depends far more on how fast you can rebuild your cash than on anything else, which is why the pet loadout requirement is the real gate.
computed from the cashRequired and multiplier columns above; no new figures are introduced
What you get back
- A permanent account-wide cash multiplier
- Rebirth badges
- Title unlocks
- An initial egg bonus applied on your next spawn
The multiplier is the only reward that changes how the game plays. Badges and titles are collection items, and the initial egg bonus is a small head start on the next run. If you are resetting for a title, you are not resetting for the reason the system exists.
The pet requirement, and why nobody lists it
Hard requirement. The cash threshold. That is the only gate the dialog itself enforces.
The part that is not a rule. The pet loadout. No source publishes a per-tier list of required pets, and the strongest source frames it as discipline rather than a rule: the button is only worth pressing if your current roster can rebuild comparable cash quickly after the reset.
Lock in at least two pets that can carry the next run before you reset. A player holding a large balance on a single pet that is hard to re-hatch resets into a much slower run than they expected.
This is also why every guide that promises a per-tier list of required pets is worth less than it looks. The list would be a convenience, not a constraint, and inventing one would imply the dialog enforces something it does not.
Rebuilding after a reset
Your cash is gone the moment you reset, so the first two purchases of the next run matter more than any later ones. Both of these are cheap enough to buy in the same session, and the radar is the one that pays for itself fastest because it upgrades the loop that generates everything else.
Advanced Radar
50 cashDetects hidden eggs rather than leaving you to search for them. The cheapest rung of the radar ladder, and the first cash purchase most players make.
Bought at the Gear shop.
Grass
10 cashLevels up your main pet by granting it EXP directly.
Bought at the Food stall.
The four ways players lose a reset
- 1Resetting without locking pets first, then discovering the rebuild is slower than the reset was worth.
- 2Holding far more cash than the threshold. Overshooting grants no extra multiplier.
- 3Entering a reset without clearing inventory, which loses whatever was being held back.
- 4Planning from a multiplier figure that is more than a few weeks old. The developer tunes numbers through updates without publishing patch notes.
Still not established
- The cash threshold for every tier above the fifth.
- Which pet each tier requires, if any is enforced at all.
- The exact multiplier at every tier above the fifth.
- Whether the multiplier stacks multiplicatively with per-pet mutations. One source states it multiplies against per-pet effects, another describes the two as independent layers and does not address stacking. The two statements are compatible but not identical, and this site does not resolve them.
One of those gaps is worth naming twice, because it is the one a player would most like filled: whether the rebirth multiplier multiplies against a pet mutation or sits beside it as a separate layer. The two statements are compatible but not the same, and the difference decides whether a well-mutated pet gets even better after a reset or simply stays where it is.
Common questions
- What does a rebirth reset?
- Cash, luck, and most of your pet power. What survives is the multiplier itself, which is the one thing a reset can never take back. The game tracks those as three separate layers, and treating pet power and the multiplier as the same thing is the most expensive mistake in this system.
- How many rebirths are there?
- Sources report seven at the release version, and the strongest source lists only five tiers while marking the fifth as open-ended. The seven figure is published here because two independent sources agree on it, with the caveat that the source with the most detail does not confirm a cap at all.
- What is the first rebirth multiplier?
- This is the one thing about rebirth that sources actively disagree on. One says the first reset takes income from 1x to 1.25x. Another says it goes from 1x to 2x. Those are eight times apart, both claim to describe the same reset, and this page publishes both rather than picking one.
- Should I reset as soon as I hit the cash threshold?
- No, for two separate reasons. Overshooting the threshold grants no extra multiplier, so going in well above it wastes the difference. And the multiplier scales with the balance you are holding, which means a reset done at exactly the threshold returns less than one done with a full bank.
- Do I need specific pets to rebirth?
- The dialog only enforces the cash threshold. No source publishes a per-tier list of required pets. What the pet loadout requirement actually means is discipline: lock in at least two pets that can rebuild your cash quickly before you press the button, or you reset into a much slower run than you planned.
A rebirth run, start to finish
The table above describes a rebirth as numbers, and the warnings describe it as mistakes. What it cannot supply is the shape of a run, which is what this shows. Note that it does not state the first step multiplier, which is the one figure on this page this site publishes as an unresolved conflict.

What the captions add
Walks a rebirth run start to finish, which is what the ladder table on this site describes only as numbers. It does not state the first step multiplier, which is the conflict this site publishes unresolved.
The rebirth page is a table and a set of warnings. A run-through is the part of that topic a table cannot supply.
