Inside the offset band
Two of those placements are excellent and one is ordinary, which is a more interesting shape than it sounds. Speed and income move together across almost the whole roster, so a pet that is ninth in both is genuinely a top ten mount. Jump is the column that does not follow, and the Fox sits four places lower there than anywhere else. That gap is the whole reason this pet has its own page.
There is no fox egg on the map, and that is what most searches are asking about
People look for a fox egg because every other pet in this game comes from an egg with a location attached to it. Nothing checked supports one here. The map eggs this site has been able to source are published by spawn tier and by nest family, and none of them produces a single named pet of this tier. What exists instead is a shop product: the Dragon Egg, whose published odds table gives Fox the second largest share.
That distinction matters for how you plan. A map egg is free and repeatable, and its cost is travel time. A gacha slot costs Robux every time and its odds are fixed. Answering where the fox egg is with there is not one, here is what it costs instead, is the only version of the answer that survives contact with the sources.
What a Fox actually costs
These four rows are the only pack sizes published for the Dragon Egg. The probability column is computed from the 30 percent slot rather than quoted from anywhere, so it inherits exactly the confidence of the odds table and nothing more. The last column is the one worth reading before you spend: Robux per expected Fox, which is the true price of buying at scale.

The single roll is the worst value in the table and the largest pack is the best, which is the usual shape for a gacha band. It is also worth noticing what the odds table says about the neighbours: at thirty percent the Fox is the common outcome of an expensive egg, while the Dragon itself is the one percent slot that most buyers of this same product never see. The pet people call rare is the second most likely thing in the box.

Fox against the two pets either side of it
The Ostrich below it and the Giraffe above it are the fairest comparisons, because they are the ladder steps you would be stepping off and onto. Everything in this table is a ratio computed from base values, so none of it depends on which rarity column you believe.

Read together these say the Fox is roughly where this ladder starts charging money for progress that used to be free. Pets below it come from riding around the map. Pets above it still reach further and pay more, but the Fox already covers most of the distance between the middle of the roster and its top.
Six cheaper pets jump higher than it
This is computed rather than asserted. Since speed and income rank almost identically across the roster, jump is the only column that can separate two mounts, so the question worth asking of any pet is whether something cheaper beats it there. For the Fox the answer is yes, six times over, and the list includes pets thousands of times more common.

None of that makes the Fox a bad purchase, because on the two columns that move together it beats every pet in the table above comfortably. It means that buying toward the Fox solves a distance problem and an income problem at the same time, and does not solve a terrain problem at all. Holding a Kangaroo alongside it costs almost nothing and closes that gap.
Two assumptions this page makes explicit
First, the odds table names a Fox and the roster names a Fox, and this page treats them as the same pet. No source states the link outright, and both lists come from third parties transcribing different parts of the game, so it is an inference rather than a fact.
Second, the rarity label of 1 in 21M cannot be read as a hatch rate for the same reason every pet page here says so: it is the Index display value, and from Ostrich upward the whole column carries affects the whole rarity column from Ostrich upward. The printed number may belong to the Fox or to the pet one row below it.
Where it earns its place
A pet that is ninth on speed and ninth on income is a genuine upgrade for almost everyone, and unlike the pets above it there is a published way to obtain one that does not depend on being online when something rare spawns. That is the real answer to why anybody looks up a fox egg: it is the first tier where spending money removes waiting.
For a mutation it is a reasonable target rather than the best one. Mutations multiply a base, so the most valuable targets sit at the top of whichever column a mutation touches, and the Fox is ninth or thirteenth depending on the column. Which stat each confirmed mutation affects is itself still unresolved, so anything more precise than that would be invention.
If you already have a Fox, the next decision is sideways rather than upward. A Kangaroo or a Spider costs almost nothing and out-jumps it, and keeping one in the rotation removes the single weakness this mount has. - What the jump value is measured in, so a twenty two point edge over the Giraffe cannot be turned into a distance.
- Whether shop odds have changed since they were transcribed, because the shop was restructured days before Update 1.
- Whether the odds are per roll or per pack. The percentages total exactly one hundred, which reads as per roll, and no source says so outright.

- Nothing checked says so. Every map egg this site has been able to source is listed by spawn tier or by nest family, and none of them is named after a single pet the way players use the term. Search interest in a fox egg is real, but the thing it points at is a shop product: the Dragon Egg gacha, in which Fox occupies the 30 percent slot.
- How do you get a Fox?
- The only published route is the paid Dragon Egg. Its odds table lists five outcomes and Fox is the second most likely of them at 30 percent, behind Crocodile at 50 percent. Those odds come from one third-party reading of the in-game shop panel, so they are graded S4 and not yet confirmed against a gameplay frame.
- Is the Fox worth paying for?
- It depends on what you already have. The Fox is ninth on both speed and income out of thirty pets, which is far ahead of anything a mid-game player will own.
